PEIA Improve Your Score
Health Screenings

PEIA offers a unique opportunity to understand your health risk factors and improve your health status by offering a $10 per month discount off the standard health premium to active policyholders in the PEIA PPB Plans who participate in the Improve Your Score program.

Retired policyholders and members of The Health Plan HMO are not eligible to participate in the IYS screening.

What is Improve Your Score?
The Improve Your Score program is a two-step process designed to make you and your doctor aware of individual health risks.

  1. Visit PEIA Pathway to Wellness for a complete listing of screenings. Visit WVU Worksite Screenings for a list of screenings on campus. Select a date and register online.

Prior to your screening, you will need to:
—- Fast for at least 8-12 hrs, you cannot eat. You can drink water only.
—- Bring your medical ID card and photo ID.
—- Bring a snack to enjoy after your screening.

If you do not have your insurance card, please call PEIA (HealthSmart) at 1-888-440-7342. You can print a temporary card from the HealthSmart website at www.healthsmart.com.

Bring your doctor’s information, name, address and phone if you would like results sent to your physician.

  2. Your results will determine whether you need to take further action.

If your overall score is GREEN, you do not need to take further action. You will maintain your premium discount for the remainder of the Plan Year when you participated in the screening plus the following Plan Year. For personal information regarding your discount, please access PEIA’s Manage My Benefits.

If your overall score is YELLOW or RED, you must take some action every twelve months to improve your modifiable risk factors. Please visit PEIA’s Manage My Benefits to view view your options and to report engagement.
